Little Athletics Australia and Playbk Sports launch elearning partnership

Coles Little Athletics Australia and Playbk Sports have joined forces to launch a first-of-its-kind eLearning platform designed to transform volunteer training and elevate the experience of more than 89,000 young athletes across the country.

Central to the collaboration are two flagship digital courses: Introduction to Teaching Little Athletics Skills (ITLAS) and Tiny Tots.

These initial offerings mark the beginning of a broader digital learning ecosystem, purpose-built to support the Little Athletics community and hosted on a new, custom-designed learning management system (LMS).

Introducing the partnership, Little Athletics Australia Chief Executive, Myles Foreman stated “education is the foundation of a thriving sporting community.

“Our partnership with Playbk Sports enables us to deliver consistent, highquality eLearning to our volunteers and officials ensuring young athletes across Australia are supported by confident and well-prepared adults. Ultimately, this will strengthen participation, retention, and the long-term success of our sport.”

Damian Hecker, Playbk Sports’ Chief Operating Officer, added “we’re thrilled to be supporting Little Athletics Australia on this critical national rollout

“Our goal is to make world-class resources accessible to every corner of the country through scalable, personalised, and just a click away.”

The first phase ITLAS and Tiny Tots will empower volunteers with engaging, practical content that reflects the values and needs of the Little Athletics community. Looking ahead, the partnership will expand to include an Inclusion Hub, supporting athletes of all abilities and ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate and thrive.

There are also plans to deliver engaging content for teachers and club administrators, further strengthening the community’s knowledge base and operational capability.

Commenting on this, Hecker added “this isn’t just about eLearning it’s about building capacity across the entire Little Athletics ecosystem and aligning learning with the sport’s long-term strategic goals.”

The new LMS and its flagship courses will be released nationally in the coming months, with centres, and volunteers able to engage with the platform from anywhere in Australia.
