Legoland Malaysia to mark Star Wars Day while anticipating visitor boost
The LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is to mark the upcoming International Star Wars Day with a LEGO Master Builder team building the world’s largest LEGO Millennium Falcon.
In advance of International Star Wars Day on 4th May, the world’s only father-son LEGO Master Builder team, Daniel and Christopher Steininger will be at LEGOLAND to put together the iconic spaceship, using more than 200,000 bricks. Over three days, from 30th April to 2nd May, fans will get the chance to meet the most senior Master Builder in the world and place a brick on the massive creation in the LEGOLAND Theme Park.
On 3rd May, the placement of the last brick needed to complete the Millennium Falcon will coincide with guests being able to purchase their own mini limited edition Millennium Falcon as a memento.
The LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is also offering a series of family activities through to the weekend of 7th and 8th May in the fully air-conditioned LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland at LEGOLAND with the giant spaceship remaining on display at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort until end of May.
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort General Manager Mark Germyn explains “celebrating LEGO Star Wars™ Days with guests has always been a huge priority for us here at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort and this year we decided to go all out with The LEGO Group. It's also a great honour to host Daniel and Christopher Steininger.”
LEGO Malaysia Country Manager Dick Yoong, Country Manager added “this is the biggest partnership the LEGO Group has ever undertaken with LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. We know that Star Wars™ fans – young and old – will love it. We’re very excited and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
Legoland Malaysia Resort expects guest numbers this year to surpass those of 2015.
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort Sales and Marketing Director, Thila Munusamy advised that the attraction has planned various exciting activities in partnership with the LEGO Group.
Munusamy stated “(we are) keeping our parks fresh and coming up with innovative attractions to encourage domestic and international visitors to come again.”
