Kim Ravaillion named ANZ NetSetGO ambassador

Australian Diamonds and Queensland Firebirds midcourter Kim Ravaillion has been unveiled as the first national ambassador of Netball Australia’s junior development program ANZ NetSetGO.

The 20-year-old rising star will become the face of the introductory program aimed to provide children aged from five to 10 years with the best possible learning and playing experience to develop a positive introduction to netball.

Welcoming her new role, Ravaillion stated “it’s really important for our junior players to experience netball for the first time in a fun, safe and inclusive environment with modified games, music and dance ensuring enjoyment and continued participation.

“Modified games played a significant role in my netball development when I first started as a seven-year-old at Endeavour Park in Sydney’s western suburbs, allowing me to develop the basic skills across all positions of the court.”

The two-tiered ANZ NetSetGO program provides children with the opportunity to learn netball related fundamental motor skills with fun music, dance and games before the introduction of modified games with a focus on fun and teamwork.

ANZ NetSetGO has incorporated dance into the curriculum for the first time in 2014 with Ravaillion leading a dance DVD designed to teach our next generation of netballers the fundamental motor skills that are required to play netball.

Ravaillion recalled “I had so much fun dancing with the kids during the making of the ANZ NetSetGO Dance DVD so becoming the national ambassador was an easy decision.”

Ravaillion’s speed, agility and skills on court have quickly made her a fan favourite while her energetic, cool, fun and friendly personality off the court exemplifies the qualities of the ANZ NetSetGO program.

The midcourter, who made her Australian Diamonds debut against England in January, 2013, has played eight Tests for Australia.
