Johnson Health Tech promotes Gary Peak to lead JHT Australia
Johnson Health Tech. Co. Ltd. has announced a significant promotion for its Australian business unit, with the appointment of Gary Peak as Managing Director of Johnson Health Tech Australia (JHTA).
Peak, a seasoned industry professional who has been with Johnson Health Tech North America (JHTNA) since 2006, assumed his new role, replacing the retiring Terry McIver, as of 1st August 2013.
Prior to his Australian appointment, Peak, as Executive Vice President, led the sales teams for the JHTNA specialty dealer channel for both retail and commercial sales.
Peak has a long and successful history with the fitness industry. Before joining the JHTNA group he served in several industry roles, including: the President of Sports Training Institute, a physical therapy organisation (1990-1996); a principal and senior Vice President of OMNIfitness (1996-2001); and the General Manager of the fitness division at Sportcraft (2004-2005).
He holds a B.Sc in civil engineering from Union College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Announcing the appointment, Johnson Health Tech. Co. Ltd President and Chief Executive Jason Lo stated "Gary is a strong leader with sharp business acumen and an in-depth knowledge of the fitness industry.
"Under his guidance, JHTNA strengthened its market leadership position in the specialty channel.
"We (now) look for him to bring this expertise to the Australian market."
