John Glenn To Leave VMA For Queensland Performing Arts Centre

John Glenn is to leave his role as General Manager of the Venue Management Association to join the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC).

Glenn will remain with the VMA until November at which time he will join the QPAC as Executive Producer ï¾ Venue Utilisation. Glenn will head a team of five, negotiating and contracting content and artists for all four of their major performing arts spaces including the 2,000-seat Lyric Theatre, 1,800-seat Concert Hall, 850-seat Playhouse and 350-seat Cremorne Theatre.

Explaining his move, Glenn stated "I am proud of the work that I and the staff at VMA have achieved.

"We have made some significant structural and strategic change, and of course I have offered to provide a comprehensive hand-over and ongoing support to whomever succeeds me."

Glenn cited the opportunity to exercise his performing arts background in accepting the position as well as less travel involved so that he may have more time with his young children.

VMA President Brian Morris, CFE added "John has had a substantial impact on the organisation and introduced many new systems and process.

"On behalf of the Council and the membership I would like to wish John well in his new position and thank him for his work at the association."

Glenn took over his position at VMA in April last year replacing John Benett.
