Internationally acclaimed Event Producer joins Sydney Royal Easter Show

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) has appointed internationally acclaimed Producer and Director of Events Di Henry OAM to the position of Creative Director, Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Henry will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Main Arena entertainment program for the Show, the largest annual event in the southern hemisphere.

Sydney Royal Easter Show Chief Operating Officer Michael Collins is delighted to welcome someone of Henry's calibre to the team, statting "Di has over 25 years of experience in the cultural and sporting major event space and is one of Australia's most renowned event producers.

"I am excited to see the ideas and direction that Di will bring to the table, she will be a valuable asset to the team."

After being involved with the Show from 1992-1995 in the role of Event and Venue Manager, Henry is excited to have returned to the Show to deliver an exciting Main Arena entertainment program.

She explains "back in the early 90s I had a great time at the Show producing the Sydney Showtime Easter Parade which saw thousands of animals make their way down George Street, as well as bringing Robosaurus to the Show for the first time. It is one of the most fun places to work.

"In 2013 we're planning for the audience to be a part of the main attraction in the arena. We have a couple of big secrets in mind, so you will just have to come out to the Show to find out what the all buzz is about."

Prior to this appointment, Henry was the Program Director with the Mayor of London's Office creating, producing and delivering the City of London's Olympic and Paralympic Games programs and celebrations which included Live Sites, Events Programs and all City dressing.

She has worked in over 90 countries specialising in large-scale public events and operations including 14 Olympic Games Torch and Commonwealth Games Baton Relays, Games Ceremonies and Cultural Events, World Cup events and operations.
