Looking forward to the conference, event organiser Jo Michel explains that “Ticketing Professionals Conference Australia is an opportunity to network with other ticketing professionals from across sports, concerts and theatre.
“There is no other opportunity in Australia to do this.
“We work in a visible yet hidden industry, where the detail of what we do is unknown to most. Let’s build a formal community to not only develop our own skills but to build skills and a career path for the industry.”
Ticketing Professionals Conference Australia was founded in 2005 by the late Tim Roberts and the NARPACA (now Stage Queensland) team.
In 2018, recognising an opportunity to enhance professional understanding and growth in the Asia Pacific region closer to home, the event was revived in association with the Australia Council Marketing Summit.
Working with the Ticketing Professionals Conference UK international team and the INTIX (International Ticketing Association) board, the first conference was presented in November 2019 at what was then Bankwest Stadium, welcoming 200 delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia and presented 25 sessions across two days.
In 2019, speakers such as Maureen Andersen, INTIX President, Dave Wakeman - ‘The Revenue Architect’, Einar Sævarsson - Chief Executive of Activity Stream, Stuart Buchanan - Head of Digital Programming at Sydney Opera House, Kim Tran and Nick Falzon - Vice President Sales for Disney Theatrical Productions among others presented on a wide variety of topics including customer engagement, accessibility in ticketing, pricing strategy, data protections and management.
