International Focus for Singapore Pool and Spa Show
The first ever SPLASH! Asia event is set to take place from 4th to 5th May 2011 at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore.
The exhibition is modeled on the highly successful biennial SPLASH! Expo held on the Gold Coast.
SPLASH! Asia will be a must attend exhibition for manufacturers, retailers, pool builders, contractors, architects, engineers and pool service technicians. The event will provide an opportunity to showcase products, network, build relationships with distributors and pool shops and meet key decisions makers in the Asia wet industry.
Along with more than 45 exhibiting companies there will be a number workshops and seminars covering a range of local and international topics - speakers include Tom Lachocki, Chief Executive of NSPF; Bernie Skelton - NSPI Accredited Specialist; Delphine Fong - Sports Safety, Singapore Sports Council;, Hugh Smith - Pentair Water Pool & Spa; Ian Brown of Royal Life Saving Society Australia (WA); Tom Giannoulis of Zane Solar Pool Heating; Mark Portbury of Zodiac; Sam Schuckert of Waterco and the always popular Bill Kent of Team Horner.
Another major seminar presentation will come from Marcus Ng, Project Director of Innovez Sports Technologies, the design-and-build pool specialist who constructed the Sands SkyPark pool at the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort .
The Sands SkyPark pool is a spectacular aquatic facility that sits atop the three hotel towers on the 57th storey. It features a 340-metre long superstructure that comprises landscaped gardens, dining facilities, an entertainment venue and an impressive 150-metre infinity-edged swimming pool that offers unhindered views of the Singapore skyline.
Speaking on The Dynamism and Possibilities of Stainless Steel Pools, Ng will explain the challenges of working on a pool that comprised three separate 50-metre long stainless steel enclosures, connected at each joint by four-tonne moveable terraces that function like bridges; and creating a 150-metre long infinity edge 250 metres in the air.
The Sands SkyPark pool is constructed entirely of pre-fabricated high-grade low-carbon stainless steel, allowing the pool to accommodate building movements from wind and gravity. Ng will elaborate on the engineering innovations of the Marina Bay Sands Skypark Pool and the potential of stainless steel pool construction.
For those attending the event, SPLASH! is able to offer special rates at the two hotels which join with the Raffles City Convention Centre - Swiss'tel The Stamford - with rates from just $249 and the Fairmont Singapore is offering rooms from $269.
