International Council on Active Aging introduces wellness business summit for executives

The International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) is to present the business case for wellness at an educational summit for executives being held concurrently with the annual ICAA Conference and Trade Show next month.

Being held on 18th and 19th October at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, California, USA with the theme is ‘The Business of Wellness’, the summit will bring executives in senior living and senior services together with industry experts to explore wellness through a business lens.

The two-day meeting will concentrate on trends, maximising returns, employee wellness, technology and other key areas. Industry input will inform the educational program, which ICAA is designing for chief executives, executive directors, administrators, board members, presidents, vice presidents and other executives.

The 2018 ICAA Conference will also feature DR Joseph F. Coughlin as its year’s keynote speaker. With the theme ‘Ignite Your Wellness Culture’, the conference urges attendees to take wellness beyond a program or physical space to become the foundation of an organisational mission, philosophy and delivery system.

Author of the recently released book The Longevity Economy, Dr. Coughlin sees longevity as a call to innovate and invent the future of living.

As founder and Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab, Dr. Coughlin pursues creative ideas, technologies and innovations in housing and community, health behaviours, retirement planning and transportation to improve quality of life for older adults and inspire new opportunities for those who provide services to them.

He will share his vision, knowledge and groundbreaking work at the MIT AgeLab with attendees, and explain how the new generation gap is not about age, but expectations.

Conference and Summit educational sessions will be delivered by experts in business, wellness, technology, marketing and community. In addition, attendees of both events will access an accompanying exhibition of products and services targeted to multidimensional wellness and healthy aging for older adults.

ICAA also offer a range of resources on the Business Case for Wellness at www.icaa.cc/business/businesscase.htm
