Input invited on new Territory Wildlife Park strategic plan
Territorians are being invited to offer input on the future direction of the Territory Wildlife Park to help improve the popular attraction.
As part of the Northern Territory Government’s $40 billion economy, a Consultation Paper has been released which outlines the Park’s vision and values and is designed to promote new ideas towards creating future opportunities for the Park.
The NT Government has set in motion community consultation for Territorians to have their say and participate in the development of the Territory Wildlife Park Strategic Plan 2024-2029.
The consultation paper invites locals, stakeholders and park users for their thoughts on a range of themes including enhancing visitor enjoyment and community engagement, expanding conservation, education and research efforts, and growing and strengthening business opportunities.
The insights and ideas provided in response to the Consultation Paper will help draft a Strategic Plan that aligns with people’s expectations, while ensuring the ongoing sustainability of the Territory Wildlife Park.
The Consultation Paper is open until Tuesday 30th April 2024, and a draft Strategic Plan will be released following the results.
There will be an opportunity to comment again on the draft Strategic Plan later in 2024.
Once finalised, the Strategic Plan will provide a clear vision for the future direction of the Park over the next five years.
It will map out ways to attract tourism, enhance visitor enjoyment, contribute to conservation and education, promote the health and wellbeing of Territorians, and develop strategic partnerships to ensure relevance and viability of the Park on the Territory, national, and international stage.
