Innovative approach to developing community infrastructure
Earthtrak Australia is partnering the Cardinia Shire Council in their latest example of the innovative provision of sporting infrastructure within their community.
The Shire sourced support from Earthtrak under its Infrastructure Development Program on a two-stage project in Pakenham in Melbourne's south-east.
Stage One is the creation of football pitches at the Henry Road Pakenham site with Stage Two the building of an athletic track.
The attraction of Earthtrak's Infrastructure Development Program is the innovative approach that enables its clients to get their development completed at no cost.
By using its knowledge of local housing development, Earthtrak has created the ultimate in sustainable and cost-effective programs by utilising clean land fill to fund the projects.
Earthtrak understand that local councils and the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) build schools and community infrastructure when there is housing growth in an area and, if housing is being built, that means that earth is being moved.
Earthtrak's approach is to use the earth from these housing developments, that would otherwise be dumped, to fund the delivery of community infrastructure.
Earthtrak Australia New Sites Contractor Ron Bongetti explains "we take the fill coming out of housing developments and use it to build school sites, cemeteries (and) council sporting precincts.
"At Pakenham ... the kicker is that by using local clean land fill we are providing the work at no cost to Council!"
Bongetti explains that the key to the success of the Earthtrak Infrastructure Development Program is local housing development, and with housing loans at a record low there is an expectation that the program will prove itself to be the most innovative way for the future of community development.
