Innovation, integrity and interaction the themes for ANZSLA 2013 sports law convention
With the theme 'iSport: Innovation; Integrity; Interaction' the 23rd Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA) annual conference will be held in Bribane on 17th and 18th October.
Chaired by Matt Burgess, the ANZSLA Conference Organising Committee has put together an impressive and topical conference program, which invites quality speakers (and conference delegates) to consider a range of current and future legal issues in sport.
Sessions will include:
• The evolving governance and ownership structures of sport
• Dealing commercially with rights created by social and digital media innovation
• Powers of ASADA and the continuing effect of the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) Report
• International gambling, doping, match fixing and spot betting: damage to integrity of sport
• Interaction of sports and their athletes of the latest technology
• Protecting privacy of athletes and property online.
With the legal implications of the ACC report on its investigation into the widespread use of banned drugs in Australian professional sport as well as links with organised crime set to dominate Australian sport over the coming months and years, the ANZSLA Conference is set to provide high quality information and debate on this serious and sensitive issue.
Overall, the ANZSLA Conference continues to grow each year and attract the world's greatest minds in sports law. The conference provides delegates with an unparralleled networking experience while hearing stimulating presentations from experts on the most contemporary issues in sports law at the time.
