Innovation Conference to inspire North Queensland tourism

Digital innovation, marketing and leadership are among the topics to be covered by speakers at the inaugural News Corp Australia Tourism Innovation Conference in Cairns on Friday 6th November.

Introducing the event, Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Chief Executive Alex de Waal said a panel of inspiring business leaders had been selected to host the conference’s Concurrent Sessions and Business Panel discussions.

The speakers include:

• Harvey Lister, Chairman and Chief Executive of AEG Ogden 
• Ken Chapman, Chief Executive of Skyrail-ITM and a director of the Chapman Group
• Keith De Lacy, former Queensland Treasurer
• Donna Moritz, founder of Socially Sorted 
• Sean Blocksidge from The Margaret River Discovery Co
• Simon McGrath, Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer
• Shelley Wild, Managing Director, Unique People Pty Ltd
• Ian Balme, from Forgotten World Adventures New Zealand

de Waal stated “they join a stellar line-up with social commentator Bernard Salt giving the opening keynote speech, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki the keynote innovation motivational speech and media personality James O’Loghlin the Master of Ceremonies.

“The Tourism Innovation Conference will challenge delegates to think about how they can drive innovation in their business, no matter what industry they are in.

“Concurrent Sessions include discussions on innovation in leadership and management, international marketing, digital marketing, domestic marketing, product development and financial management.
