Information workshop on This Girl Can program offered in Bass Coast
GippSport in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council are inviting local sporting clubs to attend a free workshop as part of the ‘This Girl Can Week’ program, focussed on getting more women and girls active in sports.
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Councillor Brett Tessari, said the workshop will provide an opportunity for local sports club to find out how to get involved in This Girl Can Week and ongoing programming.
Mayor Tessari advised “the workshop will give local clubs plenty of information and will be delivered around the four key insights that have been developed to help encourage women and girls to participate in sport.”
The session will be run as part of the ‘This Girl Can Week’ program and will be held at the Old Post Office Meeting Room, corner McBride Avenue and Watt Street in Wonthaggi from 7.00pm to 8.30pm on Monday, 2nd March.
Following this workshop, Council in partnership with GippSport will be hosting a This Girl Can active breakfast on Monday, 23rd March. This event will include a range of activities, guest speakers and a healthy breakfast to start the day. It will also include the launch of a week-long calendar of events for This Girl Can Week.
Bass Coast Council was successful in obtaining a This Girl Can Marketing Grant from VicHealth, which will help fund the workshops and activities planned as part of This Girl Can Week.
