Immersive space experience solidifies ICC Sydney’s return of entertainment events

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) restarts its entertainment events schedule with an award-winning, immersive space event - Neighbourhood Earth - set to reactivate face to face events and attract thousands of visitors to the venue and Sydney’s CBD.

ICC Sydney Chief Executive, Geoff Donaghy said that after almost 16 weeks in lock down, more than ever, the community was seeking experiences and in person connections and experiential events delivered on this desire.

Donaghy notes “welcoming an event such as Neighbourhood Earth solidifies the return of our entertainment events calendar as we progress on the road to recovery. This is timely to meet the demand for in person connections that will reinvigorate the experience economy.”

Emma Triggs, Chief Executive of M Live, who are presenting Neighbourhood Earth said the event represented a restart for the events business and would fulfil the market’s need for life-enriching experiences as the city emerges from lockdown.

Triggs explains “Neighbourhood Earth will bring cutting edge technology and the latest in science to a diverse audience. In selecting a venue, it was important for us to collaborate with a world class operator that is as committed to raising the bar for audience experiences as well as health and safety practices as we are. The event is anticipated to draw an audience of 150,000 and we have the utmost confidence that our collaboration with ICC Sydney will ensure patrons not only have an out of this world experience at the event, but a safe and seamless one too.”

ICC Sydney has already confirmed a multitude of entertainment events between November 2021 and December 2022, such as Love Actually in Concert in December, Yotam Ottolenghi in January, London Grammar in February and Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert in April, with a host of events in the pipeline yet to be announced.

All events held at ICC Sydney continue to be delivered in line with the venue’s rigorous ASM Global Venue Shield program and EventSafe Operating Guide while meeting the current New South Wales Government regulations, to ensure the safe running of events in an environment emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Neighbourhood Earth will be held at ICC Sydney's Exhibition Centre from 19th November to 23rd December 2021. For more information visit iccsydney.com.au/whats-on.
