Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre open day follows busy period
The Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in inner Sydney is hosting its annual Open Day on Saturday 2nd February.
The free event, running from 10am to 3pm, will include fun activations including free glow in the dark fitness classes, smoothie bikes and festival games and food.
Visitors can take advantage of a special 360 Membership offer to sign up without having to pay a joining fee, giving them access to all City pools and fitness centres.
Parents can also book learn to swim programs for their children and get the first two weeks free.
The Open Day follows a busy period for City of Sydney aquatic and recreation facilities run by Belgravia Leisure with the five sites recording more than 100,000 visits during December.
Total attendances at the facilities during December were:
• Cook and Phillip Park - 28,634
• Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre - 27,785
• Victoria Park Pool - 17,927
• Prince Alfred Park Pool - 17,278
• Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool - 16,350
Activities undertaken at the facilities were:
• Aquatics - 73,158
• Fitness - 29,053
• Court Sports - 347
• Competitions - 3,083
• Other -2,333
Total attendances 107,974
