Belgravia Leisure announces NSW State Manager appointment
After an extensive recruitment search, Belgravia Leisure has announced the appointment of Damien Bain as its NSW State Manager.
Over 15 years Bain has built a career in the fitness and recreation, industry including a previous stint with Belgravia Health and Leisure Group. In 2011, he moved to Sydney with Fitness First in the role of National Acquisitions Manager for new site development and growth and after 18 months took the role of State Manager.
Over his six years, Bain managed the largest Fitness First portfolio, lead retention and customer journey initiatives, launched new brands in swimming and dance and was heavily involved in community programs such as the Fit Schools Program and the Balmoral Burn.
Bain returns to Belgravia Leisure following the recent announcement of James Ellender’s internal promotion.
Announcing the appointment, Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Nick Cox stated “Damien brings a significant background in building culture, staff engagement and site performance and we look forward to what he can do to continue Belgravia Leisure’s focus in NSW.”
Belgravia Leisure, a part of the growing Australian owned Belgravia Group, operates over 30 facilities across NSW in the aquatic, recreation and tourism markets.
Bain’s new role is pivotal in working closely with Belgravia’s council partners, staff and customers to ensure the company delivers on its promise of connecting community leisure.
Looking forward to his new role, Bain explains “I’m excited to be returning to the Belgravia family after nearly eight years; it is just like coming home.
“To see how much the company has grown whilst retaining the strong people and community culture is outstanding and I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundations James has laid to grow and develop our people, portfolio and community presence.”
Cox advised that Bain’s appointment completes the Belgravia Leisure NSW Leadership Team, adding “as we look to the summer ahead, it’s pleasing to know that we have an excellent NSW Leadership Team who will work tirelessly with our staff and communities to ensure they are safe, healthy and engaged in our programs and services."
