IAKS expands Australasian events and networking

Looking to expand its events and activities for its growing number of members in Australia and New Zealand, IAKS (the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities) has revealed a series of workshop, information and networking events.

In addition to its Creating inclusive sports and leisure facilities workshop being held at the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club, Sydney on the afternoon of Thursday 28th April, the Creating inclusive sports and leisure facilities workshop, IAKS is to:

• Stage a networking event during the National Swimming Championships at Adelaide’s South Australian Aquatic Leisure Centre (SAALC) on 17th May 2022.

• IAKS Study Trip 2022 to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
A three day study tour (13th to 15th June) to eight and leisure facilities in the Greater Vancouver area - from multi-services community centres to venues used for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

IAKS sessions at SPLASH!
• On 23rd June at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, IAKS will run two sessions and panel discussions:
Session 1: Aquatic and Recreation Centre Staffing
Session 2: Sustainability (design and operations) of Sport, Aquatic Recreation Facilities.

• National Sports Convention - at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (running from 11th to 13th July) there will be both international and local IAKS speakers.
There will also be an IAKS networking event during the NSC

• IAKS Australasia Sub Committee
Yvette Audet, IAKS’ Australian and New Zealand Ambassador, is also looking to form a sub committee to help with above events and to further grow our memberships.
