IAAPA brings management program to Hong Kong

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is to stage its Institute for Attractions Managers immediately prior to the 2012 Asian Attractions Expo in June.

To be held from 3rd to 5th June 2012, the intensive, two-day educational management program will be being offered for the first time in Asia, having previously been presented in Europe, the United States and Latin America.

The Institute is designed to foster the professional development of rising attractions industry leaders with at least three years of management experience. The courses are a blend of classroom instruction, audio presentation, case study, classwork, and fieldwork in five core management areas: finance, revenue operations, safety, marketing, and human resources.

IAAPA Asia Pacific Executive Director Andrew Lee explains "as a global association, IAAPA is committed to offering its training and education programs around the world.

"It is important to provide professional development such as the Institute for Attractions Managers here in Asia, the fastest growing segment of the industry."

Registration for the Institute for Attractions Managers includes access to Asian Attractions Expo and costs US$499. (IAAPA members save US$100 and can register for US$399).

Since 1997, Asian Attractions Expo has been the premier event for the multibillion-dollar leisure and attractions industry in Asia. More than 4,500 professionals from 60 countries representing theme parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, museums, family entertainment centers, casinos, and resorts will participate in the 2012 event. The trade show floor will showcase products and services offered by more than 275 companies from 30 countries in more than 100 product categories, including amusement and theme park rides; architectural and design services; coin-operated games, skill games, and redemption prizes; and food and beverage.
