Hydrocare Pool Services refurbishes 40 year old sand filter

A 40-year-old gravity sand filter at the Coonamble Swimming Centre was recently refurbished by Hydrocare Pool Services.

As a result, the upgraded gravity sand filter has produced some outstanding operational figures, utilising 2000 Waterzone Filter Nozzles to produce first class water quality with a 30% increased flow to all three of the Centre's pools.

Another enhancement has seen backwashing extended from once a week to once a month, delivering water savings of approximately 150,000 litres of water, a major bonus for the frequently drought affected town on NSW’s Central Western Plains.

Swim coaches at the pool have commented that the water is the best it has been for 40 years.

Hydrocare Pool Services has undertaken similar Gravity Sand Filter upgrades at pools in Mittagong and Lithgow.
