Horsham Rural City Council partners with fitness businesses to deliver free active sessions to local community

Horsham Rural City Council, situated in Western Victoria, has advised that since March this year Council has partnered with fitness and wellbeing businesses to deliver free ACTIVE Horsham sessions at Sawyer Park each Saturday morning.

With the arrival of spring, residents are being encouraged to participate in Horsham Rural City Council’s community-run weekly fitness classes and with 5th-11th September being Women’s Health Week, there is an added incentive to get involved.

Planet Feelgood’s Lisa Cosson notes “The ACTIVE Horsham sessions are providing a huge benefit to the local community with participants, young and old, getting active and improving their health.

“Local fitness providers have really enjoyed delivering these sessions to the community, providing an opportunity for anyone and everyone to be active.

“These sessions are free to everyone and are a wonderful way to bring families, teams, buddies together to move more for health."

Pam Deckert from Fit4You Haven encouraged people of all age groups and abilities to get involved as she hosts classes across the next two weeks.

Deckert advised “Fit4You are excited to deliver free exercise sessions to the Horsham community as part of ACTIVE Horsham.

“The next two Saturday’s will be low-impact exercise sessions and will include a mix of pilates, resistance bands, balance, low impact aerobics moves and stretches.

“The ACTIVE Horsham sessions are a great way to kick start your weekend, meet some new people and get moving. Best of all, the sessions are free.”

Starting at 9am at the Soundshell, free ACTIVE Horsham sessions will continue until November.
