HKCEC welcomes 35 new exhibitions and major conferences in 2012

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) is celebrating an excellent start to 2012, having scheduled five new exhibitions and 30 major conferences for the coming year.
This successful business expansion is a direct result of the focused business development and world class services provided by the venue's professional private management company, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd (HML), despite keen competition from new and expanding venues in Hong Kong and the surrounding region, as well as stern challenges arising from periods of global economic turmoil.
This is on top of the around 100 annually recurring anchor exhibitions it will once again host, including 11 which are the largest of their kind in the world or in Asia. In addition, organisers are expected to select the HKCEC as venue for more than 1,000 corporate functions, banquets and entertainment events over the coming year.
The 30 major conferences are expected to bring over 30,000 delegates, experts and government officials from all over the world to Hong Kong and the HKCEC. These conferences cover a diverse range of topics, from medical science, dentistry, clinical pharmacy and yoga to bridge and tunnel construction, acoustics, finance and engineering. Of the total, 15 are international conferences and six are new to the HKCEC.
The five new exhibitions clearly demonstrate the remarkable diversity of events that HML successfully caters for, focusing respectively on LOHAS living, Indian property, antiques, frozen food, and diving and resort travel.
These exhibitions are organised by five different organisers, three of which are based in Hong Kong and the other two in the United Arab Emirates and the USA. Four of them are organising exhibitions at the HKCEC for the first time. Almost all will benefit from HML's attractive incentives for low season and new launches.
The HML team's professionalism and dedication have helped create an impressive track record, for instance by regularly winning the Asia's Best title for the HKCEC venue and by gaining a recurring vote of confidence from international event organisers.
