Hills Shire adventure playground upgrade completed at Turon Avenue Reserve

The Hills Shire playground at Turon Avenue Reserve in Baulkham Hills has been transformed into a vibrant play space with adventure equipment including a new play unit, swings, and a combination of rockers and springers, as well as a shade sail over the entire playground.

Picnic seating, a shelter, bubbler facilities and a bench, which was made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Crestwood Lions Club, were also included as part of the overall design.

The playground was also moved closer to the BMX track, also located within the Reserve.

The Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Michelle Byrne notes “Playgrounds are one of the most popular and well-loved spaces we have here in the Hills, and Council is pleased to be able to deliver this new and improved amenity.

“This new play space provides opportunities for physical activity, as well as recreation and social interaction.

"Council is proud of this playground, and the work that went into delivering a facility that contributes to a more vibrant and connected community.”

President of the Crestwood Lions Club, John Ebbott said the Club were honoured to support this local playground upgrade and added "It's great to see that Council has relocated the playground closer to the BMX track. This makes it safer for parents to supervise their children enjoying time at both the playground and track.

"It's also fantastic to see families and residents once again using the playground and immersing themselves in the natural beauty of the Reserve.

“Crestwood Lions is pleased to be serving the community in this way.”

The upgrades come after the BMX track was expanded almost seven months earlier, with the inclusion of a mix of new and individual jumps and pumps.
