Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa reveals Moroccan-inspired experience

The renowned Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa has opened the doors to its newest spa offering, a Moroccan-inspired Hammam, creekside pool and plunge pool.

Nestled in the heart of Victoria’s Spa Country near Daylesford, the $400,000 Hepburn Hammam experience presents a method of cleansing and relaxation inspired by the social and cultural practices of Morocco.

The unique social bathing experience uses the luxury wellness centre’s mineral-rich water sourced directly from the earth, offering the purest way to benefit from natural minerals. This water is unique to the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa containing curative minerals including magnesium for a therapeutic balneo natural spring experience.

The Hepburn Hammam experience begins in a warm room heated by a continuous flow of hot, humid air and a deep warm percolating from the seating. Guests then take a dip in the neighbouring cold water plunge pool, followed by an authentic black Moroccan soap body scrub made using olives (and rich in vitamin E) using a special kessa glove before retiring to the creekside pool to soak in serenity.

The process is extremely invigorating and relaxing, leaving your skin cleansed, detoxed and fresh, and your mind and body relieved of stress and tension.

The new Hammam, tranquil creekside pool, which opens in to native Australian bush, a refreshing plunge pool, further revamps the Bathhouse’s luxury wellness offering of traditional communal bathing and hydrotherapy treatments. The idyllic environment also offers a forest and nature emersion for guests to improve their wellbeing by escaping and disconnecting from their busy worlds.

Karen Golden, Belgravia Leisure Regional Manager Spa & Wellness, is excited to introduce the newest way to experience Hepburn’s renowned mineral-rich water from the natural springs below the ground.

Golden explains “the new experience complements our wide range of features and, incorporating our distinctive mineral water from Hepburn Springs, tie in the history of how the indigenous people used the mineral water qualities to improve health and get closer to nature.

“Spas and mineral water bathing should be an everyday part of people’s life, rather than a luxury and once-or-twice a year experience. It should be considered an ongoing health and wellness investment.”

The luxury spa continues to offer a magnificent day spa dedicated to your wellbeing where you can experience relaxing and reviving treatments including private mineral baths, massages, body wraps, body exfoliation, massage therapies, facials, facial therapies, hand and foot therapies, body scrubs and wraps, and spa rituals.

Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa was awarded as Country Winner in the 2016 World Luxury Spa Awards in the Luxury Mineral Springs Spa and Luxury Wellness Spa categories, announced in Switzerland last weekend. Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa’s operator, Belgravia Leisure, was also awarded in the Luxury Spa Group category.

Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is an iconic bathing site which has been welcoming visitors since 1895. Historical records indicate, the site was used by indigenous tribes to access the strong minerals through the volcanic earth to improve fertility and give birth. Now operated by Belgravia Leisure, Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa is dedicated to the wellbeing of guests, drawing mineral water directly from the source to offer a unique health and relaxation experience for guests.
