Belgravia enters Spa and Tourism Market

Belgravia Leisure has been appointed manager of the Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa at Hepburn Springs, Victoria.

Announcing the management contract for the redeveloped attraction, Victorian Environment and Climate Change Minister, Gavin Jennings recently stated that the "Belgravia Health and Leisure Group will bring exceptional experience and enthusiasm to operating the Bathhouse and I am confident their work will be first class."

Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Adrian Johnston added "we are confident that the specialist spa team we are currently assembling will compliment the depth of experience we have in operating community aquatic leisure venues successfully", adding that "having undertaken a rigorous Expression of Interest, Tender and assessment process Belgravia Leisure has developed an operating model for this iconic tourism destination that will service local residents and visitors alike. We look forward to working closely with the Hepburn Shire Council, the Daylesford and Macedon Region tourism bodies, and local businesses as we move towards opening."

The Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa is in the final stages of a $13 million redevelopment aimed at restoring its position as the major tourism draw card in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region of Victoria. First established in 1895, locals and visitors alike have been 'taking the waters' at the Historic Bathhouse until the recent redevelopment temporarily closed the centre.

The Bathhouse takes advantage of the natural mineral springs of the region offering both public bathing opportunities in the new wing as well as up-market day spa experiences in the heritage listed and iconic old wing.

It is anticipated that Belgravia Leisure will re-launch the venue once the building works and final fit-out is complete. Facilities and services on offer at the Bathhouse and Day Spa are currently being finalised but will include public and private mineral water bathing, mineral water spa and floatation pools, and both dry and wet day spa treatment rooms.

Having also won the tender to operate the adjoining Hepburn Springs Pavilion, Belgravia Leisure is excited about the regional tourism opportunities that present themselves in the precinct and is busily developing a series of events for the Spring season later this year.

The success in winning this tender heralds an exciting diversification for Belgravia Leisure. Now operating the largest and most famous bathhouse and day spa in Australia, Belgravia Leisure is poised to expand into both the day spa and tourism industries.
