Gymnastics Australia’s National Clubs Carnival to remain on Gold Coast until 2027

Gymnastics Australia has advised that its premier participation event - the National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival - is set to remain on the Gold Coast for a further three years, as the region continues to support the sport at all levels.

The National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival attracts over 5000 athletes, officials and support staff – as well as families and gymnastics fans to Queensland.

Thanks to the support of Tourism Events Queensland and Experience Gold Coast, the Sunshine State will host the event through until 2027, the continuation of a partnership that began in 2018.

Gymnastics Australia Chief Executive, Alistair Edgar enthused “With the 2032 Olympic Games on the horizon, we are so pleased to continue to bring gymnastics to the Gold Coast.

“The ongoing support of Tourism Events Queensland and Experience Gold Coast, helps us to deliver inspiring and memorable experiences for thousands of gymnasts and their families every year.”

The event demonstrates the breadth of talent and passion that thrives within each of the hundreds of clubs that attend.

Edgar added “the popularity of the National Clubs Carnival is a testament to the strength and vitality of our clubs and the broader  gymnastics community, and we are proud to showcase this on the Gold Coast.”

Equally, Experience Gold Coast Chief Executive , John Warn is glad to build on an already flowering relationship with Gymnastics Australia adding “we are thrilled to secure the National Clubs Gymnastics Carnival for the Gold Coast for an additional three years.

“Our strategy is to continue to build long term relationships and generate positive outcomes for event organisers like Gymnastics Australia and this contract renewal is testament that this approach is working. This is a huge win for us and the city, both in terms of our reputation as a sporting epicentre and for the visitor economy.”

In addition to the partnership announcement, Gymnastic Australia has also called for Expression of Interest for key members of the gymnastics community to join the National Clubs Carnival Working Group to provide strategic oversight over the event.
