Gymnastics Australia names Technical Directors for 2025-2028 cycle
For Gymnastics Australia, Technical Directors are central to the governance of their sport and to shaping the future of gymnastics in Australia. They lead development projects, guide technical regulations and policies, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality events, programs, and education.
Gymnastics Australia has appointed the following Technical Directors for the 2025–2028 cycle:
Aerobic Gymnastics: Alice Stooke (VIC)
Gymnastics for All: Justin Hayes (NSW)
Rhythmic Gymnastics: Katie Sigsworth (NSW)
Trampoline Gymnastics: Darren Gillis (QLD)
Women's Artistic Gymnastics: Heidi Rose (VIC)
The Technical Director appointments are the first to be announced as part of an open and competitive process designed to establish a National Commission for each gymsport for the 2025–2028 cycle. This process included integrity screening, interviews, reference checks, and final ratification by the Board of Directors.
Gymnastics Australia Chief Executive Alistair Edgar is encouraged by the breadth of candidates that have been considered and noted “our National Commission Technical Directors are looked up to as community leaders and key decision makers for our sport. They lead a team of volunteers who make a significant contribution to the delivery of gymnastics in Australia.
"As ambassadors for Gymnastics Australia, our Technical Directors will enable us to deliver our INSPIRE 2032 strategy, supporting the growth and development of gymnastics as we work towards creating a sustainable and thriving future for our sport.
“I look forward to working in partnership with our National Commissions in the years ahead as we work to embed our organisational values of collaboration, excellence, and respect.”
Gymnastics Australia thank outgoing Technical Directors, Amy Yeomans (Acrobatic Gymnastics) and Rohan Kennedy (Mens Artistic Gymnastics) for their dedication and commitment to their gymsport.
Gymnastics Australia will soon call for expressions of interest for the Technical Director position on the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics and Acrobatic Gymnastics National Commission. Recruitment for all other positions on the Gymsport Commissions is underway.
