gemba appointed to explore investment innovation in community sport facilities

Wodonga Council has appointed gemba to undertake an industry research study into best practice innovation in commercial and private investment in community sport and recreation facilities.

As part of the project, gemba is investigating national case studies as well as international best practice and innovation in England, Scotland, France, Germany and the USA. The study will explore investment models that have led to not only improved sustainability but unlocked commercial and private funding opportunities.

Once completed, the Wodonga Council will have a suite of examples that will not only stimulate ideas and innovation in the local context, but also a number of models that could be adopted in the future planning and development of aquatic and leisure facilities, regional sports precincts, as well as local sports and recreation facilities anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.

The project adds to an impressive list of sport and entertainment infrastructure projects that gemba is currently working on across Australia and New Zealand, including issues impacting grass roots level sport through to professional sport, major stadia and arenas.
