Further award wins for ICC Sydney

The International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has received further recognition for its achievements since opening in late 2016, picking up two awards this week.

The first, the Global Digital Infrastructure Award, for its information and communication technology (ICT) systems, data and cyber security management, was presented at at IMEX Frankfurt this week, recognising ICC Sydney’s cyber security.

The venue has also been awarded Best Public Building and Best Tourism and Leisure Development at the Property Council of Australia (PCA) and the Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards.

Commenting on the Global Digital Infrastructure Award, chief competition judge Bob Heile stated “ICC Sydney’s submission demonstrated the team is in an excellent position to configure and maintain its network but more importantly, the team’s approach to risk management demonstrates they have robust plans in place to deal with the unexpected.

“It’s clear that the venue is able to provide an excellent service to its delegates and that its mission is to ensure everybody has an absolutely awesome user experience.”

Welcoming the PCA Award, ICC Sydney Chief Executive Geoff Donaghy advised “we are delighted to receive these awards from the PCA and congratulate all of our partners for delivering Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue.”

NSW Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Victor Dominello said the recognition is well deserved and further confirmation that ICC Sydney is Australia’s premier events destination.

Minister Dominella added “I congratulate Geoff Donaghy and his team for the passion and dedication they bring to the job.

“The venue has enriched Darling Harbour and made Sydney one of the most sought after destinations for conferences, business events and entertainment in the Asia Pacific region.”
