Football West moves into new State Football Centre

Football West has advised that it has relocated its operation to the recently opened $46 million State Football Centre in Perth’s Queens Park.

Opened prior to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 and used as a host venue for teams from Denmark, Canada, Panama, Haiti and Morocco, the facility will now be co-managed by VenuesWest with Football West.

Perth will host five matches with the new Centre to provide the opportunity for teams from Denmark, Canada, Panama, Haiti and Morocco to train using its world-class facilities.

The 16-hectare site includes a two-storey administrative building with a grandstand, two competition and training pitches, on-site parking and three five-a-side playing pitches.

Looking forward to operating out of the new facility, Football West Chief Executive, Jamie Harnwell advised “we are delighted to be officially open and look forward to continuing to service the WA football community from our new location in Queens Park.

“It is incredibly exciting for football to have a home in Western Australia for the first time after more than 120 years.

“The venue is state of the art and as well as being Football West’s administrative centre, it will be a home to many of our player development, grassroots, coaching and referee programs, future exchange visits and, of course, actual game days starting with the 2023 State Cup finals (held today, ed).

“Football West would like to thank the Federal and State Governments for funding the State Football Centre for the WA football community. We also want to thank the Department of Training and Workforce Development WA, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, VenuesWest and the wider WA Government for their assistance during our recent move.”
