Fluidra Commercial backs mature-aged athletes at National Masters Swimming Championships

Fluidra Commercial has advised of its support for the 2025 Masters National Swimming Long Course Championships, held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre from 8th to 12th April.

As an event sponsor, Fluidra Commercial not only helped bring the championships to life but also offered a 15% discount on backstroke ledges, reinforcing its commitment to supporting grassroots swimming clubs and their athletes.

Celebrating the achievements of adult athletes of all ages from across the country, the event was a reminder that swimming is a sport for life.

With competitors ranging in age from young adults through to four athletes in their 90s, (Dorothy Dickey, aged 95; Marion Beulke, aged 98; Patrick Galvin, aged 92 and Peter Couttie, aged 95, the championships showcased the enduring spirit and physical benefits of swimming as a low-impact, non-weight-bearing exercise ideal for older adults.

Commenting on the success of the Championships, Fluidra Commercial Business Development Manager (Victoria/Tasmania), Chris Clarke stated “it was incredible to witness the energy, determination, and joy shared by athletes of all ages.

“These athletes are a testament to what’s possible when passion meets perseverance. We’re honoured to support them.”

The event was hosted in collaboration with the Masters Swimming Australia Committee and Masters Swimming Victoria.

Serving not only as a national competition but also featured as a key qualifier for the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Singapore later this year.

Fluidra Commercial remains committed to its involvement in Masters Swimming and is exploring new opportunities to support local clubs and mature-age aquatic programs throughout Australia.
