Fitstop named second fastest growing company in Australia
Leading fitness business, Fitstop, has been named the second fastest growing company in Australia in the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 Companies list.
The list, prepared by the Australian Financial Review, identified the fast-growing companies in Australia throughout 2022.
Fitstop - the home of functional fitness - which now operate 98 locations across Australia and New Zealand came in second after experiencing monumental growth over the last two years.
Fitstop was born from the sheer passion, process and performance that Founder and Managing Director Pete Hull had when working with professional athletes. A business more than a decade in the making, he launched Fitstop franchising in 2017 thanks to Pete Hull’s wife Rebecca Hull selling her car; it’s clear this is a business built on purpose that’s turned into the industry’s biggest opportunity.
Since then, Fitstop has gone from strength to strength, experiencing unrivalled growth supported by their latest $3.3 million funding round after partnering with Lift Brands. Today the fitness business has a growing portfolio of over 190 locations sold across Australia, New Zealand and as of early 2023, the USA.
Unlike other fitness franchises, Fitstop’s franchise model strategically focuses on people, process and sustainable scalability - and already they have a proven track record of locations opening cash flow positive from day one. By attracting value-aligned owners who are passionate about changing lives in their community, Fitstop is creating a successful business model that now supports a community of over 22,000 Fitstoppers.
Fitstop doesn’t just operate with a different lens in franchising either - it practises sustainability in their fitness methodology as well - leaning into a strong foundation of strength and conditioning inspired by Pete Hull’s time training elite athletes. Each 50 minute session is programmed with a fusion of strength, metabolic conditioning and endurance, allowing members to experience real results.
Their performance-based product is strengthened by the custom-built Fitstop App, which controls the entire member journey, and also links to an ecosystem of performance tools for franchise owners to grow their business. It’s this type of technological innovation and the Stop at Nothing philosophy of their community that will continue to make Fitstop competitive on a global scale.
The top rank in the Fast 100 has been taken out by Naked Life Non-Alcoholic Spirits. Naked Life edged out gym franchise Fitstop (with a CAGR of 288%), property syndicate organiser Freedom Wealth Creation (256%), remote medical and evacuation specialist Medical Rescue (220%) and personal loan provider Fundo (218%) for glory in the Fast 100.
