FitnessNZ to inform regional fitness professionals and businesses
Through June, industry peak body Fitness New Zealand will be visiting regional centres on the North and South Island with a serious of half day workshops aimed at updating club owners, managers and personal trainers on current issues affecting the New Zealand fitness industry.
The FitnessNZ Regional Roadshow will focus on issues facing clubs on a day to day basis and ways to solve these issues. Encouraging business growth the events will this year focus on two potentially profit centres: Personal Training and Group Exercise.
Delegates will be able to learn about the latest challenges for clubs based on recent Commerce Commission rulings, APRA music licensing changes, as well as new consumer law changes being proposed.
Sessions for Personal Trainers will focus on the business issues of 'PTing', sales, marketing and how to be a great PT.
In addition to FitnessNZ Chief Executive Richard Beddie who will update delegates on the latest happening in the fitness industry, both in New Zealand and around the globe, speakers at the events will be:
• Scott Krywulycz - Owner PT Plus Australasia, PT mentor, publishes author, business mentor, professional athlete, and one of the world's top rated personal training Gurus!
• Joanne Melbourne - Owner Business Gym, renowned world expert on club operation of Group Exercise Programmes.
Sessions will be held in the following centres:
Hamilton - Monday 11th June
Tauranga - Tuesday 12th June
Napier - Thursday 14th June
Palmerston North - Friday 15th June
Nelson - Monday 18th June
Dunedin - Wednesday 20th June
All sessions run from 9am to noon.
FitnessNZ Manager Nathan Burrows explains "this year we have focused on two key issues for clubs - group exercise and personal training, and how to maximise both for both clubs, and their members.
"For personal trainers, we focus on how to grow a trainers client base.
"We have kept the cost of participating extremely low, so for the $199 event, it's only $25 for trainers registered with the New Zealand Register of exercise Professionals (REPs) or manager of FitnessNZ member facilities."
For New Zealand's major cities (Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch), FitnessNZ will be hosting its popular BusinessGrow seminars in November.
Fitness New Zealand has also launched an update website and is now active on twitter.
