Fitness NZ Takes on the Fitness Industry Awards

FitnessNZ is to assume the management of the annual NZ Fitness Industry Awards.
Explaining the move, Fitness NZ Chief Executive Richard Beddie recently stated âwe would like to thank FitnessLife, who started the awards in 2005 and have run them to such a high standard ever since.�?
For 2010, FitnessNZ is seeking ideas from the industry about to improve the awards.
To help facilitate this, FitnessNZ has set up a web site with a feedback form, asking all interested persons to give their comments.
Held at the end of August, the 2009 Awards were attended by more than 300 guests.
Guest speaker on the night was Hon Murray McCully, Minister for Sport, Foreign Affairs and the Rugby World Cup 2011 who was joined by ex-All Black Josh Kronfeld and fitness ambassador Suzy Clarkson in revealing the top 20 health and fitness professionals and centres in New Zealand.
Debit Success Fitness Centre of the Year Winners were: OneFiveOne Corporate Health Club (North Island - under 1,000 members);
Heritage Health Club (South Island - under 1,000 members); First Place Fitness (North Island - over 1,000 members); and cityfitness Nelson (South Island - over 1,000 members
First Place Fitness was also named Debitsucess New Zealand Fitness Centre of the Year while another big winner on the night was YMCA New Zealand, winning in five categories.
