UAE fitness educator to deliver first instructor courses for Saudi women
UAE-based fitness education provider Empiric has launched its first training courses for female fitness professionals in Saudi Arabia.
The move comes as Saudi Arabia gears up to meet the demand for newly licensed female-only gyms, following a milestone law-change in February.
Starting with equipment-based courses in foam rolling, kettlebells and TRX suspension training, Empiric will also be delivering the internationally recognised YMCA Award in Exercise to Music for group fitness instructors at NuYu, a home-grown chain of boutique women’s fitness centres founded by a daughter of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince.
Empiric said its next visit to Saudi Arabia will see the delivery of a pre and post-natal exercise course to qualify female personal trainers, gym instructors and other fitness professionals to work with women who are pregnant or have recently given birth.
Empiric added that it is in talks to expand its training programmes to offer other fitness qualifications in Saudi Arabia, including the Diploma in Personal Training.
Empiric founder and Managing Director Cara Standley, advised “we are thrilled to be launching our fitness courses in Saudi Arabia. There is a huge shortage of properly qualified female fitness instructors who can meet the surge in demand.
"By providing education and internationally recognised fitness qualifications for women trainers in Saudi Arabia, we are setting the bar for the industry.
"Women will be able to choose a personal trainer or fitness class, knowing that their instructor will have been thoroughly trained, and is qualified to instruct them safely, knowledgably and effectively.”
