Fitness First expands outdoor movement training
2014 has seen Fitness First Australia expand its Outdoor Movement Training program that provides free outdoor yoga, Pilates and bootcamp classes to members, giving them the opportunity to go further with their health and fitness.
These classes are designed to give variety to members’ training, helping them stay motivated beyond the walls of the gym.
Outdoor Yoga
Fitness First’s Outdoor Yoga Program was developed in partnership with Duncan Peak from Power Living Australia, who is also the Founder of Fitness First’s Flow Yoga Program.
The outdoor classes are a flow sequence, which vary from a gentle to a dynamic practice.
The classes last for 45 minutes, and give members the perfect opportunity to bend, breathe, stretch and sweat, helping calm the mind, and strengthen and relax the body.
In addition to the Outdoor Yoga classes, Fitness First has a wide variety of other Yoga classes on offer at clubs across Australia, these include:
Gentle FlowYoga: Classes focused on developing flexibility and relaxing the mind and body.
As an introduction to the FlowYoga practice, Gentle FlowYoga is a simple, balanced and varied practice, which is perfect for those unfamiliar with FlowYoga, and those who have limited strength, flexibility or stamina
Dynamic FlowYoga: The most popular of Fitness First’s FlowYoga program and available in every club, Dynamic FlowYoga is designed to test members’ strength, flexibility and stamina, pushing them outside of their comfort zones. This sequence is practiced in a non-heated room, and challenges members to push to their desired intensity in every pose
Hot FlowYoga and 90 Minute Hot Yoga: Practiced in a 35 degrees heated room, the heat warms the muscles and connective tissue, allowing for increased mobility and flexibility.
In addition to this, the heat intensifies the practice, aiding to detoxification, creating a cleansing and exhilarating practice. Hot FlowYoga builds physical coordination and mental focus, and is a total mind and body workout.
Outdoor Bootcamp
Fitness First’s Outdoor Bootcamp sessions are challenging, cross training classes which use the features of urban and costal terrain, to push members to their fitness limits and beyond.
The Outdoor Bootcamp classes are made up of small groups and incorporate exercises based around Dynamic Movement Training (DMT), which combines cardio and aerobic conditioning exercises, designed to get a full body workout to build strength, endurance, and overall fitness.
DMT is a style of training that uses your body’s natural movement patterns, through three dimensional planes, to improve functional strength, aerobic fitness, and mobility supporting a healthy body and mind.
DMT is the future of fitness and is the foundation of our fitness philosophy, underpinning all of the fitness innovations within Fitness First clubs in Australia.
Outdoor Pilates
Fitness First’s Outdoor Pilates classes is an all-round workout that incorporates strength training, stretching, coordination and aerobic exercises. These classes are designed to target and strengthen the core muscles, helping members function better in their day to day life.
