Fitness equipment and pool facility to be upgraded at Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre

Mitchell Shire Council, located in the Hume region of Victoria, has advised the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre will be closed from 7th April for approximately four weeks for vital pool maintenance works and upgrades throughout the centre.

The pool’s heating system requires an upgrade and while the pool is drained, damaged tiles will be replaced, grouting redone and a commercial-grade clean completed.

While these repairs are being undertaken, there will be no access to the pool for lap swimming, aqua play or aqua classes.

While most other services will continue to run as normal at the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre, Council is taking this opportunity to upgrade gym equipment which will see minimal restrictions to gym access during the four weeks.

During this period the stadium floor will be resurfaced, new carpet will be installed in the foyer and new chairs in the pool deck.

While the closure will be an inconvenience, completing the works during the school holiday period significantly limits the disruption to the learn to swim classes.

All swim only and learn to swim members will be automatically credited during the closure period. Members can make the most of their free access to the pool and other facilities at the Kilmore Leisure Centre.

A bumper school holiday program is planned for the Kilmore Leisure Centre with hours of inflatable fun during the first week and extensive learn to swim sessions in the second week.
