Fitness Australia announces 2016 Active Communities and Active Achievers Award winners

Recognising the achievements of trainers, instructors and their group exercise programs across the nation, Fitness Australia has announced the winners of its 2016 #ActiveCommunities and #ActiveAchievers Awards.

Commenting on the Awards program, Fitness Australia Chief Executive Bill Moore stated “these awards represent everything that is good about our industry.

“The dedication of trainers and the positive outcome for their clients combine to generate an outcome that is the very reason that we all do what we do.

“It’s the most fundamental expression of what our amazing industry stands for.”

Introduced this year, the inaugural #ActiveCommunities Award highlights the gyms, personal training studios and clubs that positively impact the lives of people in their communities through their group exercise programs.

With over 1,500 nominations across two categories the Fitness Australia Awards program has given trainers and their clients a way to share their fitness journey to inspire others.

Moore added “this year we heard from trainers and business owners who engage a wide variety of people from pregnant women and older adults, to people living with a disability and people in rural communities without access to a gym.”
