Federal Court Supports ARU on Corporate Hospitality Conditions

The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) has welcomed today's decision in the Federal Court that prevents an unofficial corporate hospitality provider from furnishing fans with packages to the 19th July Tri Nations Test against South Africa in Perth.
Corporate Sports Australia Pty Ltd (CSA) commenced proceedings against ARU over access to tickets for the Test at Perth's Subiaco Oval. The companyâs intention was to bundle those tickets into corporate hospitality packages. However, CSA is not an official hospitality agent of the ARU and acquiring and on selling tickets for corporate hospitality purposes was in breach of the ARUâs ticket conditions.
The Federal Court rejected all of the orders sought by CSA in relation to its attempt to obtain tickets and bundle them with hospitality packages for the Perth Test.
The Federal Court also ordered CSA to pay ARUâs costs.
