Exhibitors look forward to 2017 Fitness Show
With the Fitness Show set to return to Sydney for the first time since 2013, exhibitors are excited by the prospect of re-engaging with the fitness businesses and professionals in Australia’s largest market – as well as interstate and overseas attendees.
Being held at the International Convention Centre Sydney from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th April, the renamed the Fitness Show will present the latest fitness trends, products and athletes at the southern hemisphere’s largest fitness event of the year.
For exhibitors, the Fitness Show is an opportunity to display new products and services, with this year’s event to witness a series of new product launches, a combined display by the newly merged Synergy Fitness and Eye Fitness as well as another significant coming together.
Some of the major exhibitors at the Fitness Show have also shared their thoughts on what fitness clubs, gyms and aquatic and recreation facilities should be thinking about in the coming 12 months.
“They need to be thinking about what makes them different! Clubs and facilities today must stand out, be a purple cow and offer innovative products, programming to be a powerful force long term.
“Unfortunately we can not be all things to all people with our fitness business so you need to evaluate which trends will provide ROI, a retention strategy or just more effective member results. In my opinion measurable related products off the back of the wearables explosion is huge however the key is in utilising the data that I think has been limited to date.”
David Norman – Owner & Founder, EYE Fitness
“Training like a professional is on the rise with a growth of Athletic Performance facilities. The rapid growth in technology has also reduced the barrier to exercise with countless fitness apps and individual trainers capturing millions of followers globally.
“Fitness and leisure facilities have the opportunity to significantly grow their membership base by looking out side the four walls of the facility. Phasing out is pressure membership sales. Consumers are now spoilt for choice. Fitness facilities must concentrate on perfecting their service delivery to ensure member satisfaction.”
Giulio Gasperini – Technogym Marketing Manager
“Clubs need to be focused on providing a boutique like experience. For example each offering such as group fitness, small group training and cycling should have their own unique identity as a destination within the club.
“Convenience and technology also remains a focus for the next 12-months with consumers demanding workouts when and where they want them, this could be in the form of a Virtual offer within the club or through portable technology through apps on a Smartphone.”
Andrew Taylor – National Business Development Manager, Les Mills Asia Pacific
“Fitness and Leisure facilities should be thinking about the activation and the deployment of their programming. It’s one thing purchasing a piece of equipment from a trade show, but they must think about how their staff can make that work within their local environment.
“Operators should be requesting easily deployable and thus scalable solutions so that they get the most out of their kit. That’s where the industry has realised what works.”
Dave Wright – Creator/Chief Executive, MYZONE
If you work in the industry, entry is free if you pre-register online before 5pm Thursday 27th April and provide the appropriate identification.
The Fitness Show will also held be at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 13th to 15th October and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on 21st and 22nd October.
