Events Queensland Gold Coast appoints sponsorship consultants

Events Queensland Gold Coast has announced the appointment of consultants 'The Prop' to drive sponsorship for the two events it owns and manages ï¾ the annual Gold Coast Airport Marathon and biennial Pan Pacific Masters Games.
The appointment marks a new direction for the sponsorship strategy of Events Queensland Gold Coast which, over recent years, has experienced significant growth with both events.
Events Queensland Gold Coast General Manager Cameron Hart said the appointment would support the next phase of growth for the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Pan Pacific Masters Games.
Hart explained "at Events Queensland Gold Coast we pride ourselves on delivering world class events on the Gold Coast, therefore it was important that we appointed an agency that understands the challenges of running major participatory events and could work with our team to attract new corporate support and explore other revenue opportunities."
Former Surf Life Saving Australia and V8 Supercar sponsorship manager and 'The Prop' founder Ben Bartlett said he was excited about working with the team at Events Queensland Gold Coast on these two major events, stating "both events offer great opportunities for corporate branding and engagement.
"You only have to look at the research to realise that the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and Pan Pac Masters Games attract a diverse, extremely avid and affluent group of participants."
In 2012 the Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be held from 30th June to 1st July and Pan Pac Masters Games from 3rd to 11th November.
Combined they are set to attract more than 35,000 participants from every state in Australia and close to 50 countries.
