Eddie Moore departs Football NSW Chief Executive's role
After five and a half years in the role, Football NSW Chief Executive Eddie Moore had left the organisation.
Moore, who resigned from his position on Monday, has advised “I am very proud of the achievements and results (at Football NSW) and this time may be remembered as significant one for the Game in this state.
“Now is a great opportunity to move on.
“This period has been challenging, exciting and eventful - both personally and professionally.
“It is fair to say we may have not always got it right - but I believe we had a positive, constructive and honest go at it.
“There are many positive legacies - beyond the redevelopment of our Home of Football at VSP - achieved since 2011 and I hope that football is able to develop these further in the years ahead.”
Moore, who has over 25 years experience in sport, event and venue management previously worked as Head of Operations for the Australian Rugby Union and had been Deputy Tournament Director/Head of Tournament Services during the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
While advertising for a replacement for Moore, veteran football administrator Stefan Kamasz has been appointed acting Football NSW Chief Executive
Kamasz, who was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2014 for his service as an administrator over four decades, has held a range of senior positions in football including having been General Manager of the former National Soccer League, General Manager of Sydney Olympic FC and Chief Executive of Sydney FC and also performed the role of acting Chief Executive of Soccer Australia.
He is credited as being a key driver in the design, strategy and establishment of the Hyundai A-League.
A statement from Football NSW advised “Football NSW would like to thank Eddie for his time and efforts with Australia’s largest Member Federation during the last five years and wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
