Dwayne Johnson shares Thomastown gym image to 47 million followers on social media

The Body Revival Health and Fitness facility in the Melbourne suburb of Thomastown is gaining global attention after fitness icon and former wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson shared an image of a mural in which he features at the gym on his Instagram.

Body Revival Strength and Performance Centre has a large mural of The Rock on their wall as well as other sporting heroes Michael Jordan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronda Rousey and Rich Froning.

The Rock’s post of the mural has received more than 400,000 likes and 2,000 comments.

Body Revival owner Aaron Lapira said he was alerted to The Rock’s post after numerous telephone calls on the last weekend in March.

Lapira told Melbourne newspaper the Herald Sun “I was getting notifications, clients were messaging me, people were reposting the picture.”

Lapira thinks The Rock may have originally seen the mural on the artist’s, Shannon Howes, Instagram.

Lapira said the recognition was a testament to years of hard work growing his business, adding “to get noticed in that perspective, all that hard work to develop into something like this, I’m pretty pumped up about it.”

The business started in Lapira’s parent’s garage 10 years ago and has since expanded, opening in Thomastown earlier this year.

He went on to tell the Herald Sun, “we run strength based sessions, boot camps, functional training, boxing, circuits, personal training, nutrition, cross Fit, mums and bubs.

“It’s like a home for people, no one judges anyone, it’s a really positive environment where people support each other and get fit and get results and have fun.”

Body Revival offer personal training, group fitness, boot camp, boxing, body tone circuit training, nutritional coaching and childrens’ fitness classes with over 50 sessions running per week.

'The Rock'and Arnold Schwarzenegger also feature in a giant mural at Aventus Health and Fitness in Wollonging, NSW.
