Dunedin Town Hall to host first concert post COVID-19

Dunedin Venue Management Limited (DVML) has announced that Auckland indie-pop phenomenon, BENEE, will be performing at the Dunedin Town Hall on 2nd October 2020 – the performance marking the venue's first post COVID-19 concert.

Dunedin Venues advise they were inundated with requests for dates for both concerts and business events since Level 2 was announced.  Business events bookings for the rest of the year are also double on this time last year.

The largest of the Dunedin Centre's facilities, the Dunedin Town Hall is a versatile auditorium used for conferences, concerts, live performances, exhibitions, balls, or social functions that can  accommodate up to a maximum of 2,200 people (seated). The venue features a built-in stage (which can be extended to suit the client's needs) and excellent acoustics.

DVML Chief Executive Terry Davies was thrilled with the news and enthused “we are already back booking the best of New Zealand music.  The level of interest in the last two weeks has been incredible.  We’ve already doubled last June and July’s business events and the enquiries are going through the roof!”

BENEE, the young artist whose real name is Stella Bennett - recently performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and has been on a meteoric rise to stardom. She has collected over half a billion streams and a passionate global fan base obsessed by her groove-drenched sound and quirky lyrical take on the world.

The artists has also claimed four NZ Music Awards in 2019, taking home prizes for Best Single (‘Soaked’), Best Solo Artist, Best Pop Artist and Breakthrough Artist. Josh Fountain also collected the Producer of the Year award for his work on her records.

BENEE who has performed sold out shows across the UK, Europe, the USA and Australia will perform four headline shows across Aotearoa starting at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday, 2nd October followed by performances in Dunedin on 3rd October, Wellington on 9th October and Auckland on 17th October.
