Dragon's Labryinth coming to Kryal Castle

The Labyrinth of the Dragon Sorcerer, a new entry attraction at Kryal Castle, is to receive a grant under the Federal Government's T-QUAL program.

The grant will assist in the building and construction of The Labyrinth, which is seen as a critical piece in the Castle's redevelopment.

When complete, The Labyrinth will be the new gateway to the Castle, offering visitors their first impression of the castle.

A walk through, high-tech, special effects filled family attraction; The Labyrinth will take visitors on a journey to the 'King's riches' - fraught with traps and spells, it will set the mood for a fun filled day at the Castle, transporting guests into a land of myth, magic and medieval adventure.

The experience starts with visitors walking through fog filled doors into the 'pre-show', then journeying through a series of scene before exiting into a medieval world alive with the colour and buzz of period activities and shows, village traders, themed attractions and other visual stimuli.

The Dragon's Labyrinth is one of 12 new attractions and experiences that will be on offer at the Castle when it reopens its doors to the public at the end of this year.

It will also incorporate a Dragon's Egg Garden experience, pitched at small children.

The Labyrinth of the Dragon Sorcerer attraction is one of 14 projects to receive the federal tourism development funding in Victoria, one of 77 from around Australia and from a field of approximately 350 applicants nationally.

Kryal Castle Director, Erin Joyce said "we are thrilled with the success of our application. It gives us further assurance in the value that the redevelopment is bringing to the region and the State in terms of employment, economic flow on and the exciting adventure park and resort itself.

"The Labyrinth and the total relaunch of Kryal Castle ticks many boxes in terms of creating improved, higher quality and new regional tourism experiences in the country... all of which are priorities for Federal Government in the realisation of the Tourism 2020 Strategy."

The Castle, located just outside of Ballarat, is scheduled to be relaunched in late December and function spaces catering for end of year parties and celebrations, weddings, events and conferences will be ready in the coming weeks.
