Kryal Castle begins tourism transformation

Works have commenced on the redevelopment of Kryal Castle - the medieval castle attraction located just outside of Ballarat, Victoria.

The redevelopment will see an array of entertaining cultural shows and reenactments, interactive and special effect experiences for the whole family to enjoy - all set in a time of knights, chivalry, dragons and wizards.

World leading themed attractions designers The Sanderson Group have been recently appointed to undertake the redevelopment master planning works at the Castle.

The Gold Coast-based designers and builders have has over 23 years experience in the design and construction of high quality themed tourist attractions and global operations spanning from the Middle East through to Asia Pacific.

They have also recently completed Universal Studios in Singapore, and are currently working on several projects throughout South East and Central Asia.

In addition, Castle Suites, designed by Melbourne based design and architectural company DC Group, are currently being refurbished and constructed.

The Castle Suites, along with updated functions and event spaces such as the Tyrants Tavern and the Knights Round Table Tower, are scheduled to open in the coming months.

The larger interactive, educational and entertaining medieval castle, which will mix adventure and theme park experience will be relaunched at a later time.

Castle Tourism and Entertainment Director, Erin Joyce explains "we are committed to the redevelopment of Kryal Castle as an iconic and unique adventure and theme park, accommodation, function and special event venue.

"It will be very entertaining and deliver a high quality tourism product for the region and the State."

The Castle was also recently listed on the Austrade and Tourism Australia, Australian Tourism Investment Guide, a register of 80 investment ready and proposed tourism projects around the country.

Additional investment would activate Stages 2 and 3 of Castles redevelopment Master Plan, produced by The Sanderson Group, and could include additional themed accommodation outside the Castle walls and thrill ride experiences.
