Design finalised for Minnamurra Bike Skills Track
Kiama Council has finalised the design of the Minnamurra Bike Skills Track at Sanctuary Place Quarry on the NSW south coast, to include a number of suggestions received while the draft design was on public exhibition.
Neighbouring residents, community groups and local schools were consulted, and provided valuable feedback on the project.
The final design includes:
Two downhill tracks
Two pump tracks
A junior/toddler track
A balance skills course
There will also be picnic shelters, park benches, amenities and a carpark with the Minnamurra Lions Club set to repair the existing picnic shelters, install park benches, the log skills section and landscape the site.
The construction phase of the project is anticipated to commence in the coming months with the Track ready to open in the first half of 2021.
The NSW Government has provided $50,000 towards the project from its My Community Project initiative.
The Australian Government has allocated $150,000 from its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
