Des Renford Leisure Centre installing new splash park
Randwick City Council is transforming the Des Renford Leisure Centre’s current toddler pool area into a colourful new splash park with the transformation expected to be completed by summer.
Construction is underway on the $1.5 million project with Mayor Dylan Parker enthusing “we are excited to transform the current toddler pool area into a new place for family fun and adventure for the children of our community.”
Designed with sustainability in mind, the new park will use a water circulation system that prioritises water conservation. The new system will recycle and reuse water, allowing up to 95% of used water to be recovered.
The design also includes new landscaping and new seating areas for parents and carers to supervise their children.
The new splash park will include in-ground and above-ground structures such as:
Slides
Water sprays
Spiral tunnel
Fun-brella
Sneaky soaker
Surf cannon
Surfboard
Dump bucket
Construction is scheduled to be complete in late September 2023.
