City of Canterbury Bankstown opens new splash park
The City of Canterbury Bankstown has officially opened its new Greenacre Splash Park in the community’s Roberts Park.
Opened by Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour and state member for Lakemba Jihad Dib, the aquatic play area offers a variety of water play equipment for children, including a new mega splash four-dump bucket, as well as a network of dynamic water spray and play elements.
At the opening, Mayor Asfour took to the stage to express his gratitude to all those in attendance and encouraged them to spend time with their friends and families in the new splash park.
He then officially opened the park by cutting the ribbon and activating the water features.
Designed to be a place for families to come together, have fun and keep cool, the new Splash Park is a free-entry park and open to the public for all to enjoy during the hot summer months.
It also provides an open garden area with barbecues and family-sized picnic shelters.
