Delaware North delivers new menus for Wellington's Westpac Stadium
Welcomed as the new food service provider at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium in April, Delaware North has spent the last few months improving and refining the new public menu offering.
The company has made use of chefs and staff from their Australian operations to assist with the transition and has also worked hard to strengthen its local relationships across the hospitality industry.
In a unique partnership with Wellington Hospitality Group, Delaware North is embracing a philosophy of ‘bringing the city to the Stadium’ -– introducing a range of flavours and local ingredients that will appeal to Wellington’s foodie culture, while maintaining a product range that is quick to serve and offers value for money for sports fans.
Delaware North Sportservice Operations Director Justin Cavenett explains “we have thoroughly enjoyed this new opportunity to work with not only the Stadium but also the wider Wellington hospitality industry to achieve something quite special.
Our retail menu represents a new focus on delivering Wellingtonians a range of food options that will enhance their Stadium experience and also match their expectations as a proud food region.”
Some of the highlights of the new retail menu include:
• The ‘Smoke and Smoulder’ offering a delicious range of slow smoked meats and loaded fries
• ‘Cleaver and Coup’ offering Southern Fried Chicken and crunchy Popcorn Chicken all made in-house by our chefs
• 10 different burgers across the venue ranging from the Classic Cheeseburger, a tasty Pulled Lamb Burger, to the ‘Shroom Stack Burger’ - which is a must-try for any vegetarian
• There are also a number of lower priced options perfect for families, including a kid’s chicken and chips for $5
Delaware North has also developed some hero items for upcoming events including the Piri Burger, co-designed with All Blacks legend Piri Weepu, which will be available at the All Blacks v France test on 16th June; as well as a special American Hot Dog and a Canadian Burger designed for the Ice Hockey Classic on 23rd June.
The new retail menu is now available for the public to purchase at outlets around the Stadium concourse.
